Hi Susan,

Here is my feedback on using What's Ahead? in my Career Pathways for ESOL class.
Students found the book, What's Ahead? to be relevant and relatable to their lives. They enjoyed reading about the characters from different countries and their various stages of life starting out in a new country and the challenges that would lie ahead for them. The book touched upon a variety of occupations for students to research and cited useful websites for students to reinforce learning.

Hello Susan,

Here are some positive points I have on What's Ahead? :

1. The students like the stories - they seem real and hit home for them and make them feel that they are not alone in the immigrant struggle - relatable.

2. The topics and stories are easy for the students to follow and understand

3. The students love the inclusive website, because they offer assistance and information during research for different projects and job search What's Ahead? is good for group work — the plays allow students and teacher to be interactive with each other and great practice for workplace vocabulary.

Please feel free to let me know if you need any further information.

Johnetta
