Mary Romney, a past member of the TESOL board, was recently given
the following award. This news clip comes from a Quinebaug Valley Community
College press release: Mary Romney Honored by Sandy Mawford - which
we read in the TAP* newsletter.
On January 29th, board member Mary Romney was presented with the Martin
Luther King Service Award by Eastern Connecticut State University. The
award is presented yearly to three individuals who have a "commitment
to the goals of an integrated society, leadership in a program serving
the needs of a diverse community, or the planning and implementation
of programs to broaden representation of underrepresented groups." Mary
has worked as coordinator of academic support and ESL instructor at
Quinebaug Valley Community College in Willimantic, Connecticut, for
the past eleven years.
Beyond the contribution she makes to her community, Mary is a respected,
veteran member of TAP (astute Newsletter readers should recognize her
byline.) We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mary
on her well-deserved award. Excellent work!
Her proud publishers join TAP and QVCC in congratulating Mary on her
continuing great work.
